Privacy Policy

Save to Photos does not have accounts, does not have a server, and does not track you. What follows is the whole of it, and it is the same text the app itself shows.

No account, and nothing to sign in to

The app has no account system. It never asks for a Google password and never signs in to Google. The only thing it needs is a shared album link that you give it, which is what makes the album readable without any credentials.

Your album link stays on your device

Each album's share link is stored in the iPhone's Keychain, and synced to your other devices through iCloud Keychain under your own Apple Account, which is end-to-end encrypted. It is never sent to us, because there is nowhere to send it: the app has no server. Delete an album in the app and its link is deleted with it.

Your photos go from Google to your phone, and nowhere else

When the app saves photos, it downloads them from Google directly to your iPhone and writes them into your Photos library. They do not pass through any service of ours. The only outbound connections the app makes are to Google, to read the album you asked it to read, and to Apple.

What we do collect

The app sends some anonymous technical information to Apple's iCloud, which we use to improve the app and to detect errors. It is not linked to your identity, is not used for advertising, and is never sold or shared with anyone.

Purchases

Subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details, your card, or your Apple Account. The app only ever asks Apple whether this device currently has an active subscription.

Photos permission

The app needs permission to add to your photo library, and full access lets it recognise what it has already saved so the same photo is never saved twice. It reads your library only to answer that question, and nothing about your library leaves the device.

No third parties, no tracking

There is no analytics service, no advertising network, no crash-reporting vendor and no data broker. The app contains one third-party software component, a local database library, which sends nothing anywhere.

Keeping and deleting it

Everything the app keeps about your albums lives on your devices. Deleting the app removes it. The anonymous measurements are not connected to you or your device's identity, so there is nothing in them that can be looked up and removed on request — which is the trade for their being anonymous in the first place.

Children

The app is not directed at children and collects nothing that could identify anyone, of any age.
